Learn how to make a quick batch of cannabutter using distillate
When it came to using anything but flower, I will admit I was a little apprehensive. I’m not worried about making mistakes, but when making a mistake can easily cost over a $100 in medicine, I think most would be a little nervous. That’s why up until 2021, we at CannaCook have avoided using concentrates and distillates. But after a year of successfully cooking with flower, we decided in 2021 to give it a shot.
What is distillate?
“A runny, translucent oil devoid of the waxes or undesirable compounds from the original plant. Distillate is desirable due to its potency and versatility. It can be used to dab, vaporize, and mix in as an ingredient in edibles, topicals, and other products. Distillate concentrates are achieved through an extensive refinement process that separates compounds from cannabis plant matter.“
I will say that it is much easier than we anticipated! In fact, if I had to learn the whole process over again, I would have started with distillates and concentrates. They are just so easy to work with! So lets explore this distillate butter recipe, shall we?
As 2021 continues, we will explore more distillate recipes as well as recipes that use concentrates. We have also began testing various machines like the Levo2 and Ardent Flex. Please see our video archives for more!
