Women Using Cannabis For Menopause
More women are beginning to use cannabis as a way to manage some symptoms of menopause. Roughly one in four women in a survey said they had used or currently were using cannabis to manage their menopause.
According to UPI, fewer than the one in five reported they were using more traditional treatments such as hormone therapy. The findings are according to a study shared at the 2020 Annual Meeting of the North American Menopause Society.
Fifty-four percent of women respondents said they experienced hot flashes and night sweats. 69% of respondents reported genitourinary symptoms and 27% said they had insomnia. About 27% of those surveyed reported using cannabis to manage symptoms, including hot flashes and night sweats.
