Infusing Oils 101

Infusing Oils
Infusing Oils is one of the most popular methods of Cannabis Cooking.

One of the most popular methods of infusing foods with cannabis is the use of oils. There are several different oils out there though, so deciding which one to use can be confusing. Oils can also be used for administering dosages with tinctures. All of the following recipes will need to have decarbed cannabis. If you need decarb instructions, please click here. Each recipe is neatly organized so that you can print the instructions easily for your own use.
*Note- Use the “Low” settings on your crockpot when infusing.*

Coconut Oil

  • Preheat oven to 250 degrees. In an oven safe dish add the coconut oil. I typically use 1/2 cup coconut oil and 15 grams decarbed cannabis. You can adjust the amounts to your desire.
  • Add decarbed cannabis to the coconut oil and mix well. In another oven safe dish fill it with water and put in the oven once it is preheated. Doing this is important, it will help the cannabis from getting dried out.
  • Cover the cannabis and coconut oil with foil and cook for 1 hour. After the hour, remove and stir. Recover and cook for an additional 45 minutes.
  • Once removed from oven, let cool. Using a strainer and cheesecloth, strain a mixture. Use right away or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Crockpot MCT OIL Infusion Directions

  • Cover measuring cup with foil and place within the crockpot. Make sure that the crockpot has a couple of inches of water on the bottom.
  • Every few hours take the glass measuring cup out and remove foil and stir.
  • After 24-48 hours of cook time, remove the decarbed cannabis from the oil using a cheesecloth.
  • The mixture is ready to use after you strain it. MCT (medium chain triglycerides) is good for tinctures or putting in vegetarian capsules.
